I have always been attracted to decorative painting and folk art... and I was a bit shy about it, because it all seemed simple, somehow childish... Traditional wooden bowls, spoons, matryoshka dolls - that's what Russian traditional painting is usually associated with. But I could not give up my passion of traditional art so easy. Through the experience of academic painting and drawing, through the study of the history of art in The Imperial Art Academy in St.Petersburg (Russia), I still came to decorative painting and folk art. And now I am "at home", I'm enjoying it a lot! And I realized that folk art is not always so simple!

My goal and mission are to show people all over the world that folk art, and Russian traditional art is beautiful, harmonious, it is a connection with ancestors, it is always relevant and can even be stylish and fashionable.

I really like to create interior compositions with folk ornaments on paper or wooden surfaces. It seems to me that they fit very well into any interior and give a zest to any space.

Recently, I've started creating digital patterns in the folk style. And now I can combine in the interior hand-painted artworks (on canvas, dishes or accessories) and my digital patterns printed on fabrics (pillows, blankets, curtains, tablecloths, etc.). That's fantastic, isn't it?!

That's how my project "MASTERskaya" was born ("masterskaya" means "workshop" in Russian). These are tutorials about traditional folk painting in three languages (English, Spanish, Russian). These lessons are for children and adults, for people who have never painted in their lives, but would like to start.
